Prince Harry who turned 25 last month but was unable to throw a party as he was busy in helicopter pilot training and was not allowed drinking alcohol while flying, has splashed out £6000 on a belated birthday booze cruise for himself and close friends in Botswana.
After being successfully passed the first stage of his pilot’s training last week, the prince flew out to Botswana accompanied by a group of his closest friends for a week of partying on a rickety houseboat on the legendary Okavango Delta.
Among the friends are TV presenter Natalie Pinkham and her boyfriend Owain Walbyoff, Harry’s confidante, Tom Inskip, his former army mentor and royal equerry, Mark Dyer, and three Scotland Yard police protection officers.
The party are spending a week living on the Kubu Queen, a two-storey houseboat, which evokes memories of the famous 1951 film, The African Queen. It allows guests the option of sleeping in one of its three double guest bedrooms or in camp beds on deck underneath the stars.
