Proud Mum, Queen Elizabeth II, presented the Royal Horticultural Society’s Victoria Medal of Honour award to, Prince of Wales, Prince Charles at the Chelsea Flower Show for his “passion for plants, gardening and the environment”.
Prince Charles had once famously revealed that he talked to his plants at Highgrove. Royal Prince Charles became the second member of his family to be granted the accolade. His grandmother, the late Queen Mother, was known for her love with plants received the award in 1961.
The presentation was one of the highlights of the Chelsea Flower Show preview, which included an appearance from Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster, who popped along to the Highgrove stand.
